@Bdblakley29: Sorry, but no. There is no evidence 1. that the Clinton Foundation is the copyright owner; 2. that the Clinton Foundation released the file in the public domain; 3. Do not remove deletion request templates from files. If the Clinton Foundation is the copyright holder and released it in the public domain, we would need a confirmation from them by email (please see COM:VRT for the procedure, and COM:THIRD for the whole process). It could be in the public domain for lack of copyright notice or renewal, but this has to be proved. Where and when was it first published? About the delete of File:Vistas Construccion nuevo municipio y piscina en villa alemana.jpg and the delete request of File:Pasajeros arribando a Villa Alemana (1960).jpg

Hi, I have seen that the image "Vistas Construccion nuevo municipio y piscina en villa alemana.jpg" was deleted for copyright violation. Despite the copyright license of the Flickr post, as far as I know, the images published by the goverment of my country (Chile) are under CC BY, and many times the Goverment´s agencies (like the Intendencia de Valparaíso) miss to eliminate the copyright in the images, for that reason I put in the archive the disclaimer "Despite the copyright claim on Flickr, this work of the Gov of Chile is licensed under CC BY" and the "CC-GobCL" license. This practice is common on Spanish Wikipedia and can be seen in other archives like in this image. About the File:Pasajeros arribando a Villa Alemana (1960).jpg, I took it from the link of the source and in the web it contains the next text in spanish: "Este sitio pretende dar una mirada retrospectiva a Chile y sus comunas existentes a comienzos del 1900. La idea que motiva esta iniciativa es poder testimoniar los cambios tanto culturales, sociales o arquitectónicos, a través de la lectura e interpretación de diversos registros fotográficos que dan cuenta del desarrollo histórico de nuestro país. También se propone estimular el debate y las opiniones que se puedan generar entre los interesados en conocer y compartir este trabajo. Se deja en claro que esta recopilación no pretende dar cátedra en historia, sino solo ser un transmisor de estas imágenes que cada uno puede observar e interpretar.

Murals of Seychelles

Since murals are considered two-dimensional works and are not covered by COM:Canada#FOP in places like Canada, what is the rule for murals in Seychelles? Can publicly visible murals, including those in government buildings, be uploaded to Wikimedia Commons without the artist’s permission (for example, Andy Alvis)? Its a ridiculous nomination its over a decade ago IMO. A consensus of Wikipedians worked on a project called Joburgpedia in a collaboration over three countries. These images were used widely and seen by lots of Wikimedians. QRpedia was an established Wikiproject. Raising questions now puts our project procedures in disrespect. At some point there must be a presumption that we knew what we doing at the time. There is no one who has evidence of a copyright concern. Consensus should be respected. Thank you Yann. It worries me that if I wasn't still active then this image would have been deleted. Is it likely that other over-a-decade-old photos are being nominated? Maybe commons need a statute of limitations? Commons has a lot of people checking licences... at some point surely we should assume that old media has been checked by others who had better information to hand. I know that I have loaded 100s of images with similar evidence and there must be many others who are now not active. Still we saved this one. thanks again and happy new year. I have thousands of images and I load maybe a thousand every year. They are all supported by evidence. In some cases its a website that looks as if it will be there forever .... but they rarely are. I'm surprised that someone wants to overcheck images that are a decade old and that will have been checked by others with less formality. Is there a way to batch up a lot of images for a license review? For instance Category:Media_donated_by_the_Scotland_Malawi_Partnership? In a decade's time the evidence will no doubt be unavailable and you and I may not be here. I assumed that commons was a safe place to leave images and the community would look after them. I'm sure you do.... and even after they have been checked... there will still be copyright violations. The old images however were checked. If commons continues to raise the bar, (and it never has a statue of limitations) then the number that need to be rechecked will be exponential. A license review is now considered adequate but in a decade will that be thought insufficient? Still that's your area of interest. Mine is in creating a large body of free to use images that are safely kept for all time. Request to allow talk page use

User ArionStar to reached out through my talk Page asking how to request for an unblock here on Commons. I don’t have details of the process, but as I could read, there were many discussions, and on decision of blocking it is clearly mentioned by some that access to talk page should be disallowed. The blocking admin is not admin anymore. So, I am asking you if you agree with letting the user edit talk page with the single purpose of requesting unblock. The reason I am asking you is that you participated of the discussion that lead to the block.

Non je ne suis pas bannis de Wikipedia et n'ai violé aucune regle.

Edit : je crois que je viens de comprendre ce qu'il s'est passé. J'avais teléversé ces photos il y a une dizaine d'annees. Et il n'y avait aucun problème. Cependant il y a quelques jours, je l'ai ai uploadé avec de nouvelles photos (les mêmes, mais en amélioré) car un ami m'a parlé d'un logiciel d'intelligence artificielle pour améliorer sensiblement la qualité et le netteté des photos, sans en changer le contenu. J'ai donc utilisé ce logiciel pour les améliorer légèrement, est ce la raison de la suppression de ces images ? Je n'avais pas le droit ? Bhuoc9 (talk) 20:46, 4 January 2026 (UTC)

@Bhuoc9: Bon, j'ai restauré les images. Mais 1. Bien que les images apparaissent plus nettes, c'est entre autre un effet trompeur car elles sont réduites. 2. Les données EXIF ont été supprimées. @Yann : je vous invite à lire fr:Wikipédia:Faux-nez/PiedgauchedeZidane et fr:Discussion utilisateur:PiedgauchedeZidane. Cet utilisateur est un spécialiste du copier-coller de textes qu'il copiait tel quel sur l'encyclopédie. Même méthode pour les photos, les seuls photos qui sont de lui possède des exifs et ont été prises avec des téléphones et des APN compactes entrée de gamme. Toutes les photos sans exif ne sont pas de lui elles ont souvent été glanées sur internet. On voit qu'elle n'ont aucune cohérences dans la techniques, la qualité et le point de vue. Les photos aériennes ont souvent des images imprimées dans des livres ou affichées sur les mur en mairie de Vesoul, dans les bibliothèques de la villes, les lycées, les hôpitaux etc. Aucune image aérienne n'est de lui, c'est aussi un grand menteur qui n'as jamais modifier ses méthodes malgré les bannissements. Les photos originales ont été effectivement prises avec un Samsung, et retouchées avec un logiciel d'IA. Si vous contestez cela, il faudrait faire une demande de suppression (pas une demande de suppression immédiate), et une seule pour toutes les images et pour ne pas disperser la discussion. Un dernier mot quand même : je vous invite à observer l'image d'origine en plein définition : [2] et vous verrez en zoomant que l'on peut voire des petits points qui sont en fait des point d'impressions d'ancres, rien à voir avec du bruit numérique, c'est eux qui formes l'image. Ces photos n'on absolument pas été prises d'une montgolfière mais au dessus d'un papier imprimé. @A.BourgeoisP: Bonsoir également. J'ai un peu de mal a comprendre ce que vous me reprochez et suis convaincu que vous vous trompez de personnage. Je m'y perd un peu devant toutes ces accusations mais un conseil à l'avenir : si vous accusez a tort quelqu'un, faites le de manière cohérente, ex : me reprocher d'utiliser un appareil photos, je cite "bas de gamme", et en même temps me reprocher que les photos que je fais sont de mauvaise qualité (bin un peu logique non ?). Continued copyright violations

Hi Yann, hope you are well.

A user called "Editor penguin" has uploaded the same image of podcaster Chris Van Vliet and claimed they took it, when in fact it was screenshotted off of his podcast, and even if the user did there is no evidence or permission from Van Vliet given. They have reinstated the image that was deleted after I tagged it for speedy deletion and was deleted. Is there anything you can do to prevent the user from keep uploading non-free images to Commons?
