CannyBill allows you to customise the look and feel of both your Admin panel as well as the customer-facing Order Forms, My Account and Email Templates. You can use the ready-made templates included with your account, use the official themes as a base for customisations, or build your own entirely from scratch.

Creating a new theme

This is quick example guide on how to create a new Theme for CannyBill.

Example: My Account theme

step1 - Download the sample templates
Step2 - Extract the "sample.zip"
step3 - Go inside the "myaccount_default"
step4 - Replace the CSS file with your CSS file
step5 - Replace the PNG file with your PNG (theme preview)
step6 - Select all the files and directories WITHIN the "myaccount_default" and zip these files. DO NOT put these files within a folder and zip the folder.
step7 - While uploading the zip file please remember that the theme name must be same as the CSS file name and is case sensitive
step8 - After successfully uploading the zip file, select the theme name and save it

Step 7: Remember that the theme name MUST be the same as the CSS file name and it is case sensitive. "myaccount_default" is not the same as "Myaccount_Default"

Mac users: Please remember to delete the '__MACOSX' file from your .zip, it will not work otherwise. If you are having problems removing it you can download 'BetterZip' http://www.versiontracker.com/dyn/moreinfo/macosx/29764

Admin Panel / My Account

Both the Admin Panel and My Account theme settings pages function in very similar ways:

The Theme Settings section on the left allows you to select form a list of currently-installed themes, to drastiacally change and customise the Admin Panel's look and feel depending on your preferences. A Screenshot of each official theme is provided, as a preview of the theme's design. To change the Theme, just select from the list and hit the Save Theme Settings buttons.

The Theme Library on the right shows all themes which you currently have installed in your account, along with the option to upload new ones, and delete existing themes.

To upload a new theme, simply hit the Browse... button, locate the theme's ZIP file on your machine, and hit OK. The theme will then be uploaded to your Theme Library, and will be available for selection from the list above.

To Delete a Theme, simply click the corresponding Delete icon in the Theme Library list, and confirm.

Note: The Default theme for any area of Cannybill - be it the Admin Panel, My Account, Order Forms or Email Templates - cannot be deleted from the Theme Settings, so you needn't worry about messing anything up if your own custom themes aren't quite up to scratch!

Order Forms / Invoices

Order Forms

The Order Form themes work in a similar way to the Admin Panel & My account but here you can also edit the HTML header/footer enabling you to fully integrate your order forms with your existing website. You can also restore the default HTML should you want to start from scratch again or have made a mistake.

Invoices

Emails especially with CSS can be very tricky as there are so many diffferent email clients available which all behave differently. For this reason you cannot create your own themes and upload them but we have provided a selection for you to choose from. We are however working on a new feature which will also enable you to customise this section.
