Help » Packages
The packages section enables you to create or view 'packages' (products) which your customers can then sign up to using the online order forms. Please note that for API Plugin order forms (Plesk Hosting, Enom Domain Names and Geotrust SSL Certificates) you must first configure your settings under the admin -> Settings -> Plugin Modules.
How to set up packages:
- Click on 'Create New Order Group' (similar to creating a department which would then contain products).
- Click on 'Add Package' and enter the product information such as price, setup fee and cycle(s).
- Click on 'Add Option' (if options are available for that product like support or additional services).
- You can now preview (click on the magnifier icon) the 'Order Group' or 'Package' to see your results and also add (copy/paste) the URL to a buy now button on your site.
Note: To add an order form to your site, hover over the 'magnifier icon' then 'right click - copy link location' then add that URL to a buy now button. Remember you also have full control over the header/footer HTML and the CSS style sheet (settings -> theme settings) and custom domain names are also available (settings -> invoice settings). You can also view some demo and live order form examples here: http://www.cannybill.com/tour_orderforms.php
Create New Order Group
This section enables you to build 'Order Goups' or 'Departments' which will contain your packages or products.
- Name: This is the name of your group or department such as Web Hosting or Software.
- Description: This is a description of your order group or department which will appear at the start of each order from explaining your packages or products to your customers when they order.
- Order Form URL: This is the URL or link that your order form can be accessed from. Simply paste this link on your website and also remember you can preview a package directly by clicking on the preview magnifier icon from the main packages page.
- Order Form Type: Select the type or order form you wish to create. Standard (anything you like), Plesk (Web Hosting), SSL Certificates (Geotrust) and Enom (Domain Names). Please note that your API Plugins must be turned on before they become available from this section. Admin -> Settings -> Plugin Modules. Please also note that you can create an Enom (Domain Name) only order form and also add this to other 'Order Form Types'. An example using Plesk would be to have your customers select the domain name they would want to use for their web hosting account.
Create New Package
This section enables you to build your package or product.
- Package Name: The name of your package or product.
- Apply VAT: Should this package or product be taxable.
- Pro-rated: If this option is enabled and your customers order in the middle of the month, they would be billed for the remaining period of the cycle and their renewal would then start on the 1st of each month. If not then the renewal date for each cycle would be the date the customer signed up to each package/product.
- Free trial period: If enabled you can set a free trial period for your package such as 30 days free web hosting or membership.
- Downloadable File: This option is used if wanting to sell software or simply add some documentation which can be downloaded from the customers My Account when the payment has been received.
- Cycles: This is where you set the price, setup fee and cycle for your package (one off, monthly etc.) You can also have different cycles for each package so you can sell a monthly package for x price but if your customers select a 12 month option they get a discount.
Create New Option
This section enables you to build options for your packages or products such as support or additional services that you offer related to each package.
- Option Name: The name of your option.
- Type: Your options can be presented to your customers as 'Radio Buttons' (for select this or that scenario) or as 'Check Boxes' (this plus this scenario).
- Price: This is the price of the option (if any).
- Setup Fee: This is the price to setup the option (if any). Please note that the setup fee is only ever charged once regardless of the number of cycles.
- Cycle: This is the cycle of your option such as x price one-off or x price every year. Please note that the cycle of each option is inherited from the package so if a customer buys a yearly package and then selects an option which is monthly, the monthly option price would be times by twelve months. The reverse would also be true so if a customer buys a monthly package and then selects an option with a cycle of one year, the option price would be divided by twelve.
- Active: Turn the option on or off in the order forms.
