For the sake of being able to move the deletion request along i have made a seperate DR limited to the most problematic files since some users thought Commons:Deletion requests/Files in Category:Epstein Files was too indiscriminate.

Assuming that these photos weren't taken by the US federal government, that would make their license invalid

Deleted: per nomination, not created by the federal government. --Abzeronow (talk) 01:18, 4 January 2026 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy delete File:Steve-bannon-jeffrey-epstein2-121225-992baa807555475a91c214468bf662a9.webp, which literally has no argument for federal authorship (and was already previously speedily deleted).
Keep File:Jeffrey Epstein passport.jpg as a scan of a PD work (see Commons:Deletion requests/Files in Category:Passport photographs of Tupac Shakur). I can more tightly crop it if someone objects.
Delete All other files due to murky authorship. Note that despite the claim on File:Jeffrey Epstein cell after death.jpg, the report sources the image to the Office of Chief Medical Examiner of the City of New York. Based5290 (talk) 01:16, 23 December 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Are you talking about the photo or the artwork of the passport? Trade (talk) 01:22, 23 December 2025 (UTC)[reply]
The photo itself is essentially a scan of the passport. The photo on the passport is PD per the referenced deletion request. Based5290 (talk) 01:27, 23 December 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Fine, i am withdrawing that one. Not gonna let this DR die on that hill Trade (talk) 01:32, 23 December 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Deleted: New York doesn't automatically release their works to the public domain. --Abzeronow (talk) 01:20, 4 January 2026 (UTC)[reply]
